HEAD COACH

Cameron Wheatley

Playing coach

Once again Cam Wheatley is continuing as Head Coach for the 25/26 season. Cam has been a pillar of the club for nearly a decade, both as a player and coach. After leading our B Grade side to a flag last year and previously helping secure a C2 premiership, Cam has his eyes firmly set on that elusive A Grade premiership. His leadership, high standards and competitive drive make him one of the competition’s best, and we’re lucky to have him steering the ship.

ASSISTANT COACH

Luke Swards

Playing coach

Luke first played for Kettering as a teenager in the 90s before going on to represent Tasmania, QLD, and the ACT in cricket, play county cricket in Manchester, and feature in the Prime Minister’s XI vs Sri Lanka in 2008. With a wealth of experience, deep knowledge of the game, and a genuine passion for cricket, Luke’s return is huge for the Mariners 25/26 season aspirations.

WOMEN’S COACH

Jack Shelton

Jack Shelton will take on the role of Women’s Coach as the team enters their 3rd season. A lifelong Mariner and natural leader, Jack has already proven himself as co-captain of last year’s B Grade premiership side, and undertaking the junior co-ordinator role. Jack is now ready to support female cricket and take the club’s women’s squad to the next level.

JUNIOR BLAST COACH

Sophie Ransom

Starting out in our C Grade side before our women’s program began, Sophie has grown into a brilliant leader who goes above and beyond for the club both on and off the field. Respected, caring, and always putting her teammates first, she’s the heartbeat of our women’s program.
Her talent backs it up. She was selected in the 2024/25 HCCA Team of the Year, has won the Club Batting Award for the past two seasons, and received the Kettering U18 Scholarship. These achievements highlight her consistency, skill, and passion for the game.
